Editor’s Note: Both YuBlog.org and Nudia.tv will be covering San Diego Comic Con daily throughout the next week.  Please note that this coverage will be completely Internet-willing, since we all know that when relying on public/hotel wifi isn’t always the most reliable thing in the world.  We encourage all readers to contribute to us in any subject by emailing YuBlog.org@gmail.com!

Jeph Loeb. Frank Miller. Alan Moore. Brian K. Vaughan. Brian Wood. Until a few years ago, these names meant nothing to me.

My name is Jo, and I am a fairly new yet loud and proud geek.  As I am about to embark upon my second voyage to Comic-Con, I decided to glance in the rear view mirror at the seminal moments that have…

Currently in American society, in order to run for almost any political office, especially president, you must pass a de facto religious test.  In every Republican primary debate last year it was a battle to see who loved God more.  There were candidates denying evolution and delivering sermons from their podiums.  On the left not one debate went by without a candidate talking about how they loved their God.  To top all of that, there was a debate about religion held by the Reverend Rick Warren, a Christian leader, that both Barrack Obama and John McCain attended while both declined to attend a debate on issues of science sponsored by Wired magazine.  Even after the election of President Obama we…

Hey everyone, it’s been awhile since I have posted any reviews, been busy working a lot, trying to save up money for my trip to the San Diego Comic Con coming up soon. I cannot wait. So anyways this post is going to be on a few movies you can catch at your local rental store.

First up is a movie called: Chandni Chowk to China, say that three times fast. Anyways I caught this movie in the theatres and I decided to check it out once more on DVD. There is no in this movie you are familiar with, if you are, mucho kudos to you. It’s a story of cook, who wants to do more with his life, when…

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks and didn’t notice: Its that time again. A new Harry Potter movie is upon us. But it’s not just about a movie for a lot of people. This time it was a revolution.

The Harry Potter Alliance is a volunteer group working to be Dumbledore’s Army in the real world. They have worked tirelessly in the past to try and expose and solve huge issues facing society, from the genocide in Darfur, to young voter apathy. They recently set out on their latest campaign – “What would Dumbledore Do?” – aiming to raise awareness to the general public of the lessons that Albus Dumbledore, Harry’s greatest mentor in the…

A friend of mine, Louis Pantelakos, Jr., shared with me today an article from a Los Angeles Times blog about the recently-eighty-sixed baseball movie, Moneyball, based on the best-selling book of the same name (Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game) by Michael M. Lewis, published in 2003.

News has been wide-spread of late about the plans to adapt the book - a story about Billy Beane, the Oakland Athletics baseball team’s general manager, and his rebellious-yet-successful approach to the business of the game - into a feature film, starring Brad Pitt as Beane and directed by Steven Soderburgh (Ocean’s Eleven, Out Of Sight). But even more recently, the bombshell was dropped…

In the pantheon of great comedy writers there are very few scribes that can top Harold Ramis. He is the man responsible for such works of genius as Caddyshack, Meatballs, Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day. In more recent years he has been at the reigns of some less than stellar efforts like Bedazzled and Analyze That. It’s with a heavy heart that I must proclaim Year One in the latter category. Directed by the aforementioned Ramis and co-written by Office scribes Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinsky, Year One is the biblical era comedy that tells the tale of a couple of feckless cavemen (Jack Black and Michael Cera) who go on a adventure across the Old Testament.

The film rests on the charm and…

Growing up as a child I remember spending numerous hours playing Nintendo with my younger brother. And one of our favorite games was a game called “Lifeforce”. It was a game done by Konami, so yes the Konami code worked. It’s a side scroller type game sort of like R-Type, and like most games from Konami at the time, it switched from a side scroller to a over the top view, like Contra did. Anyways, we spent numerous playing that game, so much that we had all of the maps memorized and knew all of the right places to be. I look back now and I think we could have finished that game in our sleep. So anyways, you may…
