Discussion: Let’s Talk Teen Choice Awards
Okay, the Teen Choice Awards aired the other night and naturally, the big winners were (*spoiler alert for anyone who doesn’t have common sense…or a pulse) all things Twilight, Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus (who age-appropriately danced with a stripper poll on top of an ice cream truck or something). Even that girl Vanessa Hudgens who can’t stop taking naked pictures of herself got some attention. (Side note: Isn’t it great that at an awards show watched primarily by tweens and young teens puts the spotlight on such relate-able role models such as Cyrus, Hudgens and Ashley Greene, the Twilight actress who also had nude photos leaked this week?).
So since it’s Wednesday, a day that’s notorious for being a “blah” day, and it’s been a trending topic on Twitter anyway, let’s talk Teen Choice Awards. Personally, I did not watch them but that’s mainly because I was busy reading Perez (I kid…sort of) and driving around with my boyfriend to find a gas station in Raleigh that was not out of gas so the car wouldn’t be out of gas (3rd time was the charm). See, the awards seemed so awesome that I’m even totally and completely focused and not going off on tangents about gas stations. But what’s the big deal anymore? And how do you feel about how grown-up all these teen celebs like 16-year-old Miley behave? Has it always been like this or do I just notice it more now that I’m 25? Or have I just reached that point where I’m prematurely old and crotchety and don’t understand them youngins nowadays?

I watched most of the Teen Choice Awards. I can’t really say Miley was “pole dancing.” Really it looked like she was dancing on an ice cream cart, and needed to hold on to something as the cart was moving. But everyone made a big deal out of it. Personally, I think everyone should chill with the whole miley-stripper-pole-dancing thing!
Vanessa Hudgens probably shouldnt have gotten so much attention, but hey, its fox, and it means ratings.
And yes, all these kids do seem more grown up then when I was their age. Im only 23 now, but things have really changed.
I don’t get why anyone would watch the teen choice awards quite honestly. Anyone could have told you that Twilight, Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus would win everything just like every year they’ve been around. Just like last year when Twilight beat out The Dark Knight for best movie. At least the award show lives up to its name. Theres no way Dark Knight would’ve lost if anyone who wasnt under the trance of “vampires are trendy and cool” was voting.
I have to gag when any of these trendy crappy things are brought up and especially when they are so celebrated at events like these. But hey, they are never ever going to win any REAL awards, so why not let the teeny boppers praise all the oxyclean and hair gel that goes into their saccharine performances. I think back to some of the lame stuff I was into as a kid and I can forgive the blind love that the kids have for these stars. I really could have gone without see Pattinson’s face at my favorite blog site though. lol

aw come on guys, it’s R-Patz; isn’t it an involuntary action for you to sigh loudly whenever you even hear his name?
I really liked Miley’s song, but I think it was too distracting for her to be wearing the shorts too short and the dancing with the pole. People need to remember she is still 16. If I saw my cousin dancing like that at 15 I would smack her. But I don’t just blame her, we make our girls get all sexed up and grow up too soon nowadays. Go look at shorts for toddlers. Boys are down to the knees, and girls are up to the butt, for toddlers. I did not watch the Awards. Twilight Yuck.

Why is R-Patz so famous? Hes NOT cute much less hot, and sure as hell cannot act. Twilight the book was ok, trashy but a good read. The movie was horrible. Actually beyond horrible.
This is an award ceremony where Twilight, Miley Cyrus and the JoBros won big…I think that says it all!
I think that the other kid who plays Jacob is way more dreamy
