LOST Discussion: What Happened to Locke?/Ep 6.4 Title *Very Minor Spoiler*
If Jack is successful with his plan, what happened to Locke? Is he still DWG [aka Esau, Not-Locke, etc.]? Is he alive? Is he still in a wheelchair? All that aside, what would you like to see happen with his character? Do you think he should come back to “life”?

Well, Lost fans, what do you think? We know that this has been discussed a thousand times since May’s season 5 finale, but now that we have the title of Season 6, Episode 4 and it’s rumored to be “Locke-Centric,” it may just change things.
**BELOW THE PICTURE IS THE TITLE OF SEASON 6, EPISODE 4. It is not, in our opinion, very spoilerish, but if you don’t like knowing anything at all, then don’t read any further.**
The title of episode 6.4 is called “The Substitute” and it’s rumored to be Locke-Centric. It could be awesome or it could be another “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham” case, where it sounds like it could be awesome but doesn’t quite live up to the hype (IMO).
Given this new title revelation, does it sway your opinion of what the heck happened to Locke?

I think the substitue refers to how ( DWG/Esau/whatshisname) took the form of Locke. I hope it will be the story of how that came to be.
Locke is a major mystery of season 6. Can’t wait to see what happens with him. STill feel badly that his life was one big failure, just a misfit wanting to fit in. Hey maybe the Island is really the “island of misfit toys” ha! Where’s Rudolf?
If they are waiting until Epi#4 to address this question; makes me very excited about 1,2,& 3 and what will be explained in them..will surely be looking for Faraday somewhere. anyone have the titles for those?
I am guessing the opening scene to season 6 will show Faraday in Ann Arbor in th 1970s
If the season opens with Faraday I will be so “dharma” happy! :0
I like the theory that it refers to a mathematical subsitution. “The Subsitute,” in the same vein as “The Constant” and “The Variable.” We shall see!

Yea, I’m with Melissa on that. My first thought after hearing the title was that The Substitute refers to a substitution in an equation. Therefore, the episode must be along the same lines as The Variable and The Constant. But since the episode is said to be Locke-centric, I’m not sure how it would relate…can’t wait for the new season!
