Sean @ Comic Con: The End
When we last left off, I was on my way back to my uncle’s house at the wee hours of the morning on Saturday. Well, I arrived at his house and got a few hours of sleep and then headed right back, just to get in line for Hall H, for the big Lost panel that day. So I find a parking spot, call up some people and the plan is for me to get in line and they will eventually find me. So I get in line and it’s not too long. I see numerous people wearing the Dharma jumpsuits and the doctor’s white coats too. You gotta love Comic Con. So slowly, the rest of the crew shows up and a few show up just at the last minute (yeah I am looking at you Mr. Albrecht). So once again, the Hall H line crew is a bunch of people from the TRS boards (minus Scooby, aka John, who wasn’t feeling good), the TRS guys, Peter from /film and the folks at Geeks of Doom; a great group of people to be around. So we finally make it into Hall H and get our seats in our favorite area.
The first panel of the day is Lost, and boy was I glad I did not miss this panel. It was a fun time. You can see most of the footage on abc.com or hop over to Nudia.tv or Yublog.org to check out some amazing pics from the panel. If you are a Lost fan you need to watch the panel. They threw out a few hints, but it was more about putting on a show for us, the fans. Lost, you have been one of my favorite panels of Comic Con. Hopefully you will be back next year (fingers are crossed). So after the Lost panel, I headed to walk around the exhibit floor and then headed to the autograph area to meet Marina Orlova, the Hot for Words lady. My friend Jeff from college did some work on her web page and he told me to stop by and say hi and pass a hi onto her. She was really nice, just felt a little awkward.
So after that I headed off to get in line for the Jay and Jack Lost Panel. It was another huge line, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to get in, but luckily they had some awesome people helping to make sure pretty much everyone got into the room (Editor’s Note: That was all thanks to our friends Jana & Kenneth, who talked Comic Con officials into letting us break the room occupancy by over 100 people). They talked about the Lost panel and some of the other Lost related stuff, so it was a great recap of the day and what I missed at Comic Con. Great job guys, and will look forward to yet another panel next year. I may try and make it down for your marathon podcast fundraiser too (Editor’s note: It’s going to be March 20, 2010 for anyone interested in going; Email LPDonate@gmail.com for more info).
So after that I was going to try and make it back into Hall H for the Iron Man 2 panel, mostly to see Scarlett Johanson, but all I heard from people on Twitter was that the waiting line was not moving. After the Iron Man panel, I met up with the crew and we headed back to the hotel and took a quick nap, and then I was off to meet my uncle’s for dinner. I headed off to Coronado and had a real nice meal and then headed back to my uncle’s house and had some cake and then went to bed fairly early that night.
Sunday, the last day. It’s been a great time and I was sad to see it end. Didn’t wake up too early today; headed down to Comic Con. Got sidetracked due to some construction and then met up with the gang. We spent most of the day walking around and doing some last minute shopping (it’s hard not to go and spend some money, so many cool things there). We did end up making it to most of the Paper Heart panel and all of the Mystery Team panel. We got to say goodbye to the Mystery Team folks and also saw a new short that they premiered at comic con.
After that we headed to the booth that Adam was working at, saw some people try and beat a stormtrooper with light saber chopsticks(yes you heard me right, coming soon). I also found out that I missed out on going to the Flynn’s Arcade (twice), but luckily I was able to get an extra token and tshirt from my nice friends. So later, people starting to pack up their things and leave, we got one last group picture taken, minus Steve, and then that was pretty much the end of Comic Con.
I know I have said this numerous time throughout these blogs, but this comic con was awesome, I met some great new friends and people and I really look forward to doing it all again next year, I cannot wait.
So I headed back to my uncle’s house for a cookout, then I started to pack up my things. Had the fun job of trying to figure out what stuff to keep and what stuff I could throw away. Luckily got most of it to fit. So early Monday morning I headed to the airport to drop off my rental car and then headed to the airport. So my experience getting back to Milwaukee was just as fun as getting to San Diego. Numerous bumps and bad weather meant a very long day at the airport. I finally made it home in Milwaukee around 12:30am and I had to work at 2am that morning, so let’s just say I called into work.
So that is it, sorry it took so long. I would like to plug a few people and sites from my trip to San Diego. They are worth at least checking out and maybe making sure you visit them daily (I visit a few of them more than once a day).
So here we go

I hope that was everyone, and remember if you want to see my pics from the comic con, you can find them here:

I will try and make sure it doesn’t take this long next year
