Here’s an open discussion for the third episode of Season 1 of FlashForward on ABC, titled “137 Sekunden”.
Comments will probably contain spoilers, so if you aren’t watching it live or if you’re flashing into the future to read this and haven’t watched the episode yet, then beware.
Does anyone have any theories on what the title even means?!

I’m pretty sure the title means 137 seconds in german, the time spent during the blackout.

Here’s a theory. It’s the characters from Lost, all reincarnated into another life on this show.
Sue - OHHHHH That’s good thinking! And at least we know now that the exact date was October 6 (maybe this was said before, but I didn’t realize it til the start of this episode).

The LOST parallels are getting ridiculous. “Leap of faith” AND Cassidy in the same episode?? We get it ABC, you want LOST fans to watch. We’re watching!
I’m just about through with this show. Although this week did show more promise and feasibility than last’s “surviving a cataclysmic explosion” stunt.
I’m a little confused???—so the German guy DID just play them to get out? or what? and then the end with the birds falling out of the sky and the boy looking at what?????
Was it Just Me or did The flashback to Somolia look like A Solar Flare? that was Me and MY dads Theory from the first episode
Just a few quick thoughts:
1. I think John Cho is going to die a day off from when predicted by the Asian lady, because of the time difference between where she is in Asia and America
2. Look up Book of Acts, Chapter 2, Verse 17 (2:17, the amount of time the flashback lasted). Very interesting verse, and shows like these always like their Bible allegories.
3. 137 (time of flashback in seconds) is apparently a significant number in physics and may fit with theories behind mind control or some such stuff.
4. Showing the birds dying (also, don’t forget bird crashing into the window during the police guy’s flashforward) makes the random kangaroo scene in the pilot make more sense - it seems like humans and birds share a unique link that others animals do not. I’m too lazy to figure it out, but I bet there is something there : )
So I finally got to watch last night’s episode and I have to say that the amount of “Lost” coincidences were kinda out of control haha. Kate played by Cassidy? There was another “Lost” coincidence I caught that wasn’t the “leap of faith” quote but for the life of me, I can’t remember it now. Also, holler at anytime Gina Torres is on the screen.
Chris - good thought about the day being off by one. I wonder who Zoe was marrying that day instead of him?
Dort - I think he was just playing them but the birds will end up being important.
I felt so awful for the sponsor whose daughter really was dead - but who was in his vision then?!
Overall, I really dug this episode even more than the previous two so I’m hoping that things’ll start to intensify even more.
I sure spend a lot of time wondering “where did I see that actor/actress before” and have to keep re-watching to catch up..but it’s not really a ‘bad’ thing..lots of details to get plus you’re comments clarify things–thx
Let’s say LOST represents the Transformers, then Flash Forward would definitely be the GoBots.. Like I told my girlfriend, the GoBots were kinda lame but you still played with them if you didn’t have any Transformers.
I don’t want to read anything on here right now because my DVR failed to record tonight while I was at work !! Ugh!!!!! Was just wondering if anyone knows how soon abc.com will have this episode up to watch. Anybody,Please???????
What’s been bugging me is if everyone’s flashforwards were supposed to be at the same time of day in the future, how come it was night-time in Olivia’s, but day-time in the bus driver’s? (Time difference wasn’t an issue here, as the bus driver is obviously local - having gone to Olivia’s hospital for treatment!)
