For all we know it could be Aaron. Think of Christian and Claire (can't wait to see what's been going on w her!!!) Also think of Jack's grandfather is alsways "ready to go" hmmmmmm. It's a lot to Ponder. But I think the Shepherd bloodline will come into play.

Besides the leader of what??? The Island??? Jacob has major special abilities (ie curing Juliet's sister of cancer) but he delegates, much the way God does when it comes to carrying out his plans. So Jacob would always really be the leader, anyone else is technically a servant. And now I'm thinking of "what lies in the shadow of the statue"

Without Jacob though I don't know, is Jack the leader and Locke the servant?

And what about Walt if "Walt is special"? and why isn't he in the picture???

man this show really messes w your head...there's just so much.

I've always been a Jack fan and I'm going to have to stick with the idea that Jack is the main guy. Try this on for a really crackpot theory.....Jack dies in the plane crash and his soul is sent to some sort of purgatory. Locke is his guide and all of there other characters are there to test him. (I did say this was crackpot, right?) So, in that sense, Locke is a leader - he is leading Jack's soul through the trials and tribulations of purgatory.

Sorry I messed up my first response!

I think Jack is the Leader and Locke is (was) the Guide in the grand scheme of the show. (Convinces Jack to lead in S1, gets him to press the button in S2, blows up his chance at leaving in S3, convinces him to lie in S4 and his death made him go back to the island in S5) I also think Jack will play a pivotal role in the Jacob vs Flocke "People don't change" debate because Jack DID change in S5 and is setup to go into S6 with eyes wide open and ready to command a very confused group of people.

I cannot wait until this season gets going but at the same time I always dreaded it ending!

in a very strange way Locke was always the Guide for the reluctant Leader Jack. Whenever Jack faltered Locke, for better or worse, did something that forced Jack to act. ( Pushing the button, blowing up the sub so he couldn't leave, his dying wish that drove Jack back to the Island etc)

What episode did Locke appear in a dream to have a white eye and a black eye? That was another clue to his future.

I think that Richard is the guide(and "Jacob") and Jack is the next true leader. My guess is that the island needs both to exist peacefully. I think Richard has been screwing with this since he arrived on the island. I think he was made the new guide (maybe rightfully), but got power hungry and is constantly been preventing the true leader from taking his position. He does this by keeping someone under his thumb in charge as the "leader" while spinning lies about "Jacob". Charles, Ben, Locke. All unrightfully the leader all appointed by "Jacob". Jack is the real leader and Richard knows it. This season, they will probably throw down.

I'm also clueless about this up and coming season, but I'd have to say, I've never been more excited for a new season before in my life.

aww well Michael we'll all going to still go off the assumption that they do because you never know and it's always fun to theorize when it comes to "Lost." Plus, regardless of the promos not being approved by Damon and Carlton, they actually do have something to do with what's coming up next on "Lost."

These glyphs probably mean nothing, remembeer most of this promotional material is made by ABC not by the creators of the show, I have heard even the next week on LOST promos don't need prior approval from Damon and Carlton
