Lesbians
Personally didn’t care for the lesbian bits (was a little tooo much)but I thought this was better than last week. The whole D.C. thing was pretty interesting/ with the chinese angle. The show seems to be answering some ?’s and giving new ones each week …. looks like next week will FINALLY tell us more about Dominic’s character!!! Yeah!!
Actually, I thought Janis’ storyline was the most interesting part of the episode (I totally called that she was gay 2 weeks ago, BTW). It’s probably one of the best character development moments of the show so far and is an interesting thought experiment: How would you approach a new relationship knowing that in 6 months you’re going to be pregnant with a baby you aren’t sure you want? Also, her getting shot at the end was a very interesting twist; *can* you get pregnant so soon after getting shot in the stomach?
Otherwise, I thought the DC stuff was kind of boring half of the time or WAY over the top. The slo-mo gunfight was pretty cheesy and ridiculous, and the verbal interaction between Wedeck and that woman who is the new VP-elect was pretty unrealistic. However, Wedeck’s powerplay with the president was a nice little twist.
Definitely looking forward to next week, especially to see Dom Monaghan’s character come into play.
Yeah I agree the slow-mo gunfight with the background vocals was very cheesy and over-the-top…
But I am hooked on the storyline.
Do we know for sure that Janis will survive the gunshot? If not, it would put an interesting twist in the believability of the flash forwards.
And, they keep brining up the fact that Mark’s flash forward is hazy because he is drunk at that time in the future. But, he isn’t drunk when he has the flash forward. Or was he?
And, who texted Olivia to tell her that Mark is drunk in his flash forward?
I am a big fan of the show and I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of Dominic Monaghan and seeing where the whole story leads.
Beth, I was in the camp that Maya was a bad guy from the second she was on screen, but I also do like the theory that Janis changed her future when she rejected Maya. I hate to use the phrase, but “in the book,” a character commits suicide because he does not like what he saw in his future and this caused a huge uproar because it proved that the futures seen there were not set in stone.
If Janis dies that would throw a huge monkey wrench into the Mosaic and force Mark to brood and overact even more. I like the Somalia story-line and think that the Nazi was definitely talking about a murder os crows. The shootout in DC was ridiculous. I like how the show is developing and hope it continues to get better.
