After a 2 week hiatus thanks to the World Series (woot Yankees!), Glee is finally back with it’s ninth episode of season one, called “Wheels.” This episode promises a “diva-off.”

As always, this is an open discussion that may contain spoilers for anyone who has not yet watched the episode.

Ready, set, Glee!

This episode was definitely a stand out episode among the season. There was incredible character development with Sue, we saw potential for just a brief moment with Tina and Artie (will Artie come back to her?), Artie mentioned what still works even though he is in a wheelchair (best laugh out loud moment of the episode perhaps), and so much more.

    Kurt’s dad is amazing!

One of my favorite quotes was what Artie said to Rachel, “You’re irritating most of the time but don’t take that personally.”

The two music numbers were great, I personally loved “Defying Gravity” more being that I’m a huge Wicked fan.

This episode definitely pulled at the heartstrings, it might have been the most emotional episode yet.

I had some fear that they were going to have Sue humiliate Becky, which it would have been almost impossible to bring her character back from, but they did just the opposite. Very, very moving, and a good way to deepen her character. Jane Lynch brings it.

I also really enjoyed Mike O’Malley, I hope we get to see him on the show more often. I find him very convincing as Kurt’s conflicted, but understanding father. It would be so easier for them to throw that character in one direction, and they don’t. The scene in the garage was dynamite.

Song highlight was definitely Defying Gravity.

So we caught up on this episode just in time for the new one and I have to say that it is my favorite of this season I think. It had everything. At least when they do things over the top, they do everything over the top. The Sue thing was really really great. Jane Lynch for President.

    And HELLS YEAH Defying Gravity!

This was my favorite ep of the season so far. Sue was amazing and the PuQuinn food fight was great.
