LOST Discussion: Which of the 4 Versions of Season 5 on DVD Will You Get?
On December 8th four versions of LOST Season 5 will be released onto disc, in order of expense there will be a standard edition DVD (cheapest), a special edition Dharma Initiative DVD, a standard edition Blu-ray, and a special Edition Dharma Initiative Blu-ray (most expensive).
So between the $35 standard edition DVDs and the $85 special edition Blu-ray and everything else in between, which one will you be getting?
Just a reminder LOST University (LU) is available on both Blu-rays but not the DVDs LU requires BD-Live. I know I will be purchasing the Blu-ray version but I am not so sure of the Dharma special Initiative is really worth it.

I am going to Wait until the end of the series run to get the ultimate package, its only one more year for the wait i think. by then i should have a blue ray player
I am asking for the blu-ray set for Christmas but know my husband won’t spring for the Dharma set. The extras on the Dharam set are going to be posted by Doc Jensen about two weeks after the set is released. I am intrigued by the letter enclosed in the Dharma set that states the negotiation between Dharma and the “hostiles”.
Amazon has made Lost the deal of the day, get all 5 seasons on blu-ray for $109, or DVD for $72.

The Dharma kit was so tempting but ultimately I would rather have all 5 seasons on blu-ray instead. I currently have the DVD’s. I may donate my dvd sets to my town library and hook some more people on Lost.
Today Amazon has all 5 seasons for $72.99 DVD and $108.99 bluray. I bought the DVDs because they were so cheap. Otherwise I just watch them on Netflix Steaming.
I asked for it for Christmas and hinted strongly to my husband that I want the Dharma Initation Kit on DVD, so we’ll see!
Target has the blu-ray Dharma set for $75 which is the cheapest I have seen, I was so tempted to get it but resisted. I hope the extras will be posted online so I can see them.
I got the regular DVDs for myself. Like Diego I’ll probably buy the ultimate edition after the series is over.
I just purchased the regular edition blu-ray I didn’t see much value in the Dharma set
I recorded the 5th season (and the 3rd and 4th for that matter) straight to DVD as they aired and am making do with those for now. When all 6 seasons are out I’m going to settle up my debt to ABC and buy the (pretty inevitable) Complete 6 Season Ultimate Blu-Ray collection.
