10 January 2010 16 Comments

The loooong wait to find out what else Chuck Bartowski aka Special Agent Charles Carmichael knows other than Kung Fu is over and it ended even sooner than we thought!

chuck-season-3-posterTonight kicks off the third season of NBC’s awesome spy show, Chuck.  We left off (*Spoiler Alert* if you haven’t seen the Season 2 finale yet) with the reveal that Chuck’s dad is intersect creator Orion, the death of Bryce Larkin (again), Ellie & Awesome getting married, Awesome found out Chuck’s secret, Morgan leaving the Buy More to fulfill his dream of becoming a hibachi chef, Emmett ousting Big Mike to take over as manager of the Buy More, Casey getting promoted to colonel, Sarah conflicted over her feelings for Chuck, a brand new organization after the intersect called “The Ring” killed Ted Roarke (Chevy Chase) and of course CHUCK KNOWS KUNG FU!

So settle in with your Five Dollar Footlong and buckle up for two nights of Chuck.  And while you’re at it, let us know what you think of the episode in the comments below.

P.S. Jay & Colleen do a podcast on Chuck called ChuckCast (very creative title, isn’t it?) so if you’re interested in supplementing your viewing experience, head on over to ChuckCast.com or subscribe on iTunes in the TV & Film section.

Tuned in for the first time tonight. Enjoyed it. Never made it to the Buy More when I lived in Burbank. ;-)

Those were 2 VERY strong episodes.

I think I speak for the British contingent when i say anyone this side of the atlantic will squee out loud at the sight of Mr Vinnie Jones.

Chuck and Sarah’s story in the first episode was brilliant - and it followed nicely into the second.

I practically stood up and applauded when Emmett took a bullet to the brain - his character was funny, but his arc was so done, he had to go.

ALSO: I really like that despite the fact that he is Intersect2.0, Chuck hasnt become a superhero. I was worried that he might have ended up becoming THAT GUY from the s2 finale permanently, an that would spoil the show. Its nice that he can sorta turn it on and off, and that he’s not entirely in control of the intersect yet.

That being said: All the early figures are saying that the 2 episodes were the highest rated episodes since Season 1 (except the 3D one), so who knows, if we can keep this up the full season pickup MIGHT NOT be such a far flung dream after all!!

As I told Colleen on Twitter, it would have been better if Emmett died by being devoured by seals.

Seriously though, I’m gonna miss Tony Hale. I loved him as Buster and although he was annoying, I liked Emmett just because he served as a good foil to the Buy More crew.

    “It’s a loose seal!” “Lucille?!”

Ah but: at least this will free him up to go record the AD Movie later this year now he doesnt have Chuck commitments!
