Sorry for the delay folks, I have been fairly busy these past few weeks. I am a little behind on the reviews, but I hope to get all caught up this coming week. It helps I haven’t really seen many new movies lately. So anyways, on to the reviews.
First up is Nine, the newest movie from Rob Marshall, who gave us “Chicago”, a movie I rather enjoyed, even though Renee Zellweger was in, not a big fan of hers. So this time we get another musical with an all star cast, Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson and Sophia Loren. The movie is roughly based on the movie 8 1/2 by Fellini. The story revolves a director who…

Hello everyone, I am back and ready to give you another set of reviews for your reading pleasure. We are going to give you a fairly new movie and the other will be one you can check out on DVD.
So first up, we have The Road directed by John Hillcoat and stars Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron. It is based on the novel written by Cormac McCarthy, which I haven’t read, so I am strictly basing this review on the film version. It’s a film about a father and his son as they try to survive after some event that wiped out most of the population. They don’t get into any sort of back story as to what happens, so you can try…
So first off, just wanted to say I hope everyone had a good New Year and that this year is going great for you. Well it’s time to get back into the swing of things, so here we go with a new batch of reviews.
First, I am going to start with Avatar, but before I get to the review, I want you to stop reading this and go find your nearest IMAX or LIEMAX screen and go see this movie in 3D. See you in a few hours…
OK, you’re back. So what did you think of James Cameron’s newest big budget blockbuster? Well for me, let’s start at the story. This is not anything you have seen before, (see Fern…

Say whatever crazy thing about James Cameron you want to, but he sure knows how to put a story together. By now, you’ve heard that Avatar has shattered box office records and wowed audiences from all over the place. From the luminescent forests of Pandora to the tech metal clanking of mechs, every detail of Avatar has been graced with the latest CGI, talent, computer design, photo realistic and motion capture, experience that we’ve ever seen. In other words, Avatar would fail if it didn’t have a good story to back it up.
There are several movies that are arguably bad while pouring advertising dollars into showcasing their CGI muscle. Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith, Final Fantasy Spirits Within, Transformers… and while each movie…
If you would have told me that Wes Anderson would make a stop motion film, I would have never believed you. Well with Fantastic Mr. Fox he did just that. The story is based on the children’s novel by Roald Dahl, about a family of foxes and their battle with a few local farmers. Mr. Fox was a great thief and after a near death experience and the birth of his child, he decides to quit, but after moving into a new place, the temptation to steal from the local farmers gets the best of him. The farmers then team up together to beat their common enemy. The voice acting for this movie includes George Clooney (Mr Fox), Meryl Streep (Mrs. Fox), Bill Murray (Badger),…
The Golden Globe Nominees for 2010 were announced this morning. Here’s the list of nominees. Anyone have any thoughts to share? Personally, I think it’s hilarious that Avatar and It’s Complicated got nominated before they’ve even been released. Also, why no Lost love for Best Television Show - Drama?
Here are the nominees. Which do you think will end up making the cut at the Oscars? Share your thoughts below.
Do aliens exist? In my opinion, I do believe there is most likely some other form of creature out there in the universe. I have to say that if a movie has something to do with aliens, I am usually in and I like the movie. One of my favorite movies growing up was Fire in the Sky, a great movie about an alien abduction. Well there is one small exception to that rule, the newest Indiana Jones movie. That is all I am going to say. So The Fourth Kind is directed and written by Olatunde Osunsanmi and stars Milla Jovovich. The movie starts right off by telling you exactly what you should expect and the story behind the movie. It follows…
This week is the 40th Anniversary of a show almost of all of us grew up on and one of the greatest shows ever Sesame Street. I don’t remember the first time I ever watched it but I do remember what it taught me. Sesame Street helped teach me my ABCs and 123s in both English and Spanish. They taught me colors, shapes, and “One of these things just doesn’t belong here.” Sesame Street always knows how to talk to kids without talking down to them.
- The pinball machine that counts to 12.
- The Ladybugs picnic.
- Whenever Grover served the blue bald guy in the restaurant.
- Teeny Little Super Guy
- Anything that Bert and Ernie would do, especially…
