An Open Letter to Jaimee Grubbs: Colleen McAllister

Tiger Woods is expected to give a formal apology for his “actions” (cheating on his wife with around 15 different women) today in Florida at 11am EST.  This is all fine and dandy for Tiger, his wife Elin and his 2 young children; all opinions aside, they have the right to their privacy and to handle what happened outside of media scrutiny.

What bothers me is something that I also find both absolutely hilarious and quite offensive.  Jaimee Grubbs, Tiger’s mistress number 2 (maybe? I can’t keep track) has made headlines - even here in London, where I saw it first) because she demands an apology from Tiger for cheating on HER with several other women.  Are you serious?!  Here’s what I’d…

The Mark McGwire Saga: Michael David

Let’s all give poor little Marky a pat on his back and tell him how courageous and wonderful he is for finally telling a half truth yesterday, instead of his fully blatant lies of the past.  Here’s a tissue for your crocodile tears Mark.  Is this guy friggin’ for real?  “The hardest day of his life”, really?  Almost every word out of his mouth in this supposed admission was BS.  No , Mark, you didn’t use PEDs to “get healthy” or return from injury, you used them to fraudulantly steal records and make incredible ammounts of money.  All of these roiders who come out with this stupid “I just wanted to get healthy and help my team” excuse are nothing…

The Tiger Woods Cheating Scandal: Michael David

Let me begin by saying that I think this is the story that has finally turned me off to the way all media is currently run. When the story broke I was sitting in the parking lot of Ikea and an AP blurb popped up on my phone saying Tiger Woods had been in a serious car accident. Immediately I turned 660 WFAN to hear if there was more info. I forget who was hosting at the time but I thought they handled it fairly well by deflecting the callers wild speculation. That was probably the last bit of responsible journalism I witnessed. Formerly credible news outlets where sucked into this maelstrom, and began reporting the rumor mongering stories of TMZ…

Larry Johnson on the Bengals: Michael David

The Bengals have apparently signed Larry Johnson to a one year deal, as a back up, for now.  Already LGBT groups in Ohio were coming out against the signing, but I don’t think it will have much effect.  In my opinion LJ is a low class homophobe but that alone should not preclude him from working.  He’s not making policy in DC, he’s a running back, nothing more.  If I were the Bengals I wouldn’t have touched him with a ten foot pole.  He is a destructive force who has no concept of team.  Haven’t the Bengals had enough issues that past few years without adding another egomaniacal troublemaker?  They have finally righted their ship and now they may be dropping a…

Bill Belichick: How Bad Was His Call? : Jay Glatfelter

For any sports fan that watched the Patriots vs. Colts game all the way through last night. You saw what is bound to be the ultimate water cooler sports talk for the rest of the year. With 2 minutes and 8 seconds left in the game at their own 28 yard line on 4th and 2 bill decided that Tom Brady and his Patriots would go for it.

The Good? If they get the first down they win, and is that much to ask from future Hall of Famer Wayne Tom Brady?

The Bad? The “Professor” Peyton Manning has the ball with only 28 yards till the end zone instead of the probable 60 or 70 yards if the Patriots punted the ball.

So…

Thank You Sesame Street: Jessica Wagner

This week is the 40th Anniversary of a show almost of all of us grew up on and one of the greatest shows ever Sesame Street.  I don’t remember the first time I ever watched it but I do remember what it taught me.  Sesame Street helped teach me my ABCs and 123s in both English and Spanish.  They taught me colors, shapes, and “One of these things just doesn’t belong here.”  Sesame Street always knows how to talk to kids without talking down to them.

Some of my favorite skits were and still are (Thanks to YouYube):
  • The pinball machine that counts to 12.
  • The Ladybugs picnic.
  • Whenever Grover served the blue bald guy in the restaurant.
  • Teeny Little Super Guy
  • Anything that Bert and Ernie would do, especially…

Nuts Nissim’s NFL Picks Week 9: Debbie Nissim

I’m still feeling the high from the New York Yankees World Series win.

Washington at Atlanta
Falcons have lost two straight, first losing streak under second-year coach Mike Smith and QB Matt Ryan has thrown seven INTs in last three games. The Redskins are 2-5 despite playing one of league’s weakest schedules. Which means they stink.
Atlanta

Miami at New England
Patriots have allowed only 98 points scored against them this season. the Fake Fish have 2 of the top 8 rushers Ronnie Brown is sixth with 578 yards and Ricky Williams is eighth with 423. Pats will take advantage of the warmer weather.
New England

Arizona at Chicago
Speaking of the weather, wonder if Cardinals won’t freeze up when they hit Chicago. Cardinals QB Kurt Warner threw…

Nut’s Nissim’s NFL Picks Week 8: Debbie Nissim

I’ve got baseball on the brain this week. But I managed to slip away to think about some football.

Week 8

St. Louis at Detroit
Ok, here are two losers; Oops, sorry, Lions finally won ONE game. Lions are off a bye week. Looking at the rest of the Rams schedule, they won’t be playing any other losing teams. So we’ll give them one last try at a win.
St. Louis

Miami at NY Jets
Fake Fish put up a fight against the Saints last week. Jets beat da Raiders last week. I’m gonna be generous this week and root for ALL the New York teams.
NY Jets

Seattle at Dallas
Seahawks are having injury issues with the latest being Lofa Tatupu. Being a Giants fan I REALLY don’t…
