Post-Finale “Lost” Discussion

Until I can figure out more of a set game plan (sorry, I deliberately spent the past 8 days not thinking), I’m opening this post up for all of your post-Lost chatter. Any questions you still have or want to bring up here, any comments, any new theories.

I’ll start and I have to credit Karen’s Facebook status for this one: In the episode Dave, Dave tells Hurley, “And when you do wake up, come find me. I’m sure I miss you. See you in another life, Hurley.” [Transcript to that entire episode here] Back in Season 2, we assumed this was just a figment of Hurley’s imagination totally messing with him. That could still be it, but with the revelation of what the Sideways was, this definitely takes on a whole new meaning now…

Anyways, the floor is yours now, my friends. And go!

(Side note: Our deepest condolences go out to Jorge & Beth as they deal with the loss of their dear Chihuahua, Nunu.)

So here we are at the end of our journey through original episodes of Lost. Before we begin our final live-episode YuBlog.org discussion, I would like to really thank everyone on Twitter, Facebook and YuBlog for their kind words during this rough week. I normally try to thank everyone individually but I was so overwhelmed this week that I didn’t have a chance. Thank you to everyone and it’s so incredible to know that although we are very close to the end of Lost, I feel lucky that I got to know this community. Thank you for the support and most especially, thank you to everyone who came to participate in YuBlog.org’s discussions and the Jay and Jack Forums talks on Lost each week. It was MY HONOR to share my Lost experience with everyone each week in real-time for the last 4 seasons. I’ve always said, “I have always watched Lost alone, but I have never watched Lost alone.” Thank you so much for being a part of an experience of a lifetime.

So without further adieu, you all know the drill! Questions, comments, theories, etc on this final episode of Lost, titled “The End.”

If you haven’t already heard/seen, Jay and Jack are going to be selling posters for the final season of LOST! The first run is a limited amount of 250. They are ONLY available for those attending the Finale Party at the Orpheum on May 23. Check it out:

Please note again: The site I’m linking to is accepting pre-orders for the attendees of the LOST FINALE PARTY ONLY (or if you live in the LA area and can get to us to get them in person). WE WILL NOT BE SHIPPING ANYTHING AT THIS TIME. Please only order if you can pick it up in person in Los Angeles that weekend. Heck, even have a friend who lives in LA pick it up for you if you want!

Jay & Jack’s LOST Finale Party - FAQ’s

Hey guys,

Since a lot of people have been asking questions about the party, I’ve compiled a list of FAQ’s to help out. If you have any other questions not covered on here, let me know in the comments below.

Question: What is the dress code?

Answer: There is no set dress code in terms of formal, semi-formal or casual. Wear whatever you are most comfortable in but please make sure it’s appropriate. There’s going to be a lot of actors, press, publicists, agents and fellow Lost fans in attendance, so save your Slave Leia costumes for Comic Con. Lost character costumes are totally, 100% acceptable

Question: Is there a schedule of events for the night?

Answer: As of today (April 3, 2010), there is no set time table for the night’s festivities. However, in the cards are a Red Carpet for arrivals (that’ll depend on whenever they’re done with Jimmy Kimmel), a cocktail hour sponsored by Tequila Revolucion (yes, you will have to show ID to prove you’re over 21 years old), a Q&A session with the actors attending (before the episode airs) and a live recording of The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack following the actual airing of the finale.

Question: Are there any other events scheduled for that weekend other than the Lost Finale Party?

Answer: Yes. Jay and Jack are going to host their own little meet-up at the Omni Hotel on Saturday, May 22, 2010 in the evening hours. Stay tuned for more details as to exactly what time or room it will be in.

Question: How late will the party most likely go?

Answer: Between 12-12:30am. It all depends on how off-topic Jay and Jack get when they’re podcasting

Question: What feed will Lost be aired on?

Answer: It’s not set in stone yet, but most likely they’ll be airing the West Coast feed [Editor's Note: boooooooooo].

Question: What is a good time to arrive?

Answer: Honestly, I’m not sure right now but I’ll update the answer to this question once we know for sure what the actual schedule for the night is.

UPDATES:

-The winners for the “How Will It End?” video contest will also be announced as a part of the evening’s festivities, I believe sometime after the cocktail hour and before the episode airs.

-Michael Emerson is the only Lost actor who has been announced right now. There ARE other actors who will be attending but Jay & Jack haven’t made those names public yet, so stay tuned!

UPDATE #2:

-There will a stand-by line outside the Orpheum for anyone who didn’t have a ticket to fill in the seats of any no-shows.

UPDATE #3:

-POSTERS!! If you’re going to the party or the meet-up on May 22, pre-order Jay & Jack’s Exclusive LOST Final Season poster: http://jayandjackstore.ecrater.com/. No shipping, just in person and we most likely will NOT be selling these in LA, so make sure you pre-order it

UPDATE #4: (May 19, 2010)

-The party goes from 5pm - 12:30am. The Red Carpet is going to start by 4:30pm, latest. I cannot yet reveal the names of some of the non-Lost actors who will be coming but confirmed Lost actors are Michael Emerson (Benjamin Linus), L. Scott Caldwell (Rose Nadler), Malcolm David Kelly (Walt), Andrea Gabriel (Nadia), M.C. Gainey (Tom Friendly), Beauman Sterling (Young Ben), Eric Lange (Radzinsky), Neil Hopkins (Liam Pace), and Sean Whalen (Frogurt). There may be more Lost actors and there are non-Lost actors.

-What the evening will entail - *This is only partial; I will update the rest tomorrow or Friday as I know more*:

Panels with the actors - one hosted by JOpinionated and one hosted by Jay & Jack.
The winner of the Dharma van from the “How Will It End?” contest.
The cocktail hour will have a cash bar with special Lost drinks sponsored by Tequila Revolucion. You will be ID’d and cannot drink if you are under 21 years old.
There will be food! It should be more than just snacks!
I *think* that there will be some sort of photo op with the Dharma van.

-Jay & Jack’s Meet-up at the Omni Hotel on May 22:

We booked the Noe Restaurant/Room from 6pm until the end of the night. Jay & Jack don’t know their schedules yet (they have to do a run-thru at the Orpheum that afternoon & some other stuff) so they anticipate arriving between 7-8pm. Then they are all yours for the rest of the night.
Please feel free to arrive at 6pm and take advantage of the restaurant. It’s reserved that early for that purpose!
You can pick up your posters at the Omni, but please let me (Colleen) know in some form because I need to know how to separate them all. They’ll definitely sign them if you want them too!

UPDATE #5 - May 21, 2010

Below is an example of stickers that you can print out here: http://jenniferpereira.com/LOSTfinaleSTICKERS.pdf. They were designed by Jenny Pereira aka @MochaCups. If anyone wants to wear them to identify themselves as party goers, by all means.
Costume contest: Global Cash Card did at one point say that there would be a costume contest. However, I believe it’s more of an informal thing where if they see you, they bring you on stage. Don’t quote me on this. I just know that they did want to recognize any great costumes if there was time.

I already saw that people are scalping tickets on eBay, claiming they cost money (tickets are FREE) and I saw several Tweets of people who got too many or needed more. Please post below and we can try to do a more organized exchange. However you want to reveal your info is up to you, but let’s all help each other out and prove that this is the BEST community out there.
